Madness in Frozen Time
In a land that always was, a White Rabbit was late for an appointment.
"
Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it's getting!" it cried, not taking notice of the girl who was tagging.
Unaware that she was in another world, Alice followed the White Rabbit, all the while being too quiet.
Through the bushes they went, on stepping stones and wet fallen leaves.
And that was when a grinning cat appeared, from the branches above. "
Hold it, little girl. Tell me what you're looking for."
"
A way to go, if you would please tell me?" Alice responded.
"
That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"
I don't much care where."
"
Then it doesn't much matter which way you go, as long as it isn't this way," and the cat disappeared.
Bound by a spell,
The Mad Hatter;
The March Hare;
The White Rabbit;
The Cheshire Cat;
and The Red Queen;
All made their way to a common destination.
With curiosity, Little Alice turned a corner, and another, and another, and yet another. Venturing deeper at every turn, Alice realized she was in the world of madness.
Then, a smell of Peppermint, Apple and Cinnamon lured Alice into another captivating location, where a table was heavily laid with tea and snacks.
Delighted, she settled herself onto the table without invitation, and glanced around her. On the table sat the March Hare, the Hatter and the Doormouse.
"
Have some wine," offered March Hare promptly once he saw Alice.
Yet, there was only tea on the table.
"
I don't see any wine," Alice said.
"
There isn't any."
"
Then it wasn't very civil of you to offer it."
"
It wasn't very civil of you to sit down without being invited."
It was in such a manner in which the Tea continued. Suddenly, the Mad Hatter turned to Alice, "
Twinkle, twinkle, little bat! How I wonder what you're at," rhymed the Hatter.
Alice frowned at the Hatter, unable to comprehend his words. "
What has Bats got to do with twinkles?" She demanded.
"
Why is a raven like a writing desk?" he returned.
